ICBC Freshers 2011

ICBC wants you

Do you want to come and row for one of the greatest university clubs in the country? Whether you're an experienced rower, or a complete novice tentitively dipping your toe in the water, we want to hear from you.

Join our Freshers Facebook Group, which will be regularly updated with what's going on in the club. There's always a social going on in the club too and everyone is welcome.

Freshers' Fair Tuesday 4th October

Come meet some of the club on the Queen's Lawn and find out why the boat club is the best sports club at Imperial. Compete against others, ask as many questions as you like, chat to current rowers, coxes and coaches and find out about our infamous Toga Party.

Freshers' Induction Wednesday 5th October

Meet outside the Queen's Tower at 12.30. The afternoon will be filled with rowing on the Thames, plenty of competitions both on and off the water, and a bit to eat and drink afterwards.

Freshers' Pub Night Friday 7th October

Come have a drink with ICBC members at the Hoop and Toy Pub, just a stones throw away from South Kensington Station - the perfect way to kick off the Union Freshers' Ball. See Facebook for details.

Fresher Fun Fun Fun! Sunday 9th October

Meet at Imperial College Boat Club at 11am. Don't forget your trainers and a change of kit. Click here for directions.

Squad Curry Night Tuesday 11th October

A chance to get to know the whole of ICBC at a curry night, hosted at the local Putney Tandoori. Meet at 7:30pm. £10 for a curry, rice, poppadoms and half a naan. See the Facebook Event

Freshers' Induction Take II Wednesday 12th October

For anyone who missed the first induction and a continuation for people from the previous week, this will be the same as above.

The Legendary Toga Party Saturday 16th October

Fun in togas at the boathouse. Join in the obligatory Boat Race.
See the Facebook event for more details.

What should you bring?

If it's sunny, shorts and t-shirt are perfect, but bring along a long-sleeved top as well in case it gets cold. Preferably something you don't mind getting slightly splashed! If it's raining, leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a long-sleeved top would be ideal (or we could just sit around on the rowing machines instead and watch videos...)

For student membership, see the union website shop.
