The history of Imperial College Boat Club, as you will all know, is long and illustrious, including many Henley wins and international representatives. We are very keen to stay in touch with all of our elite and not-so-elite alumni, who are warmly invited (along with partners) to all of the following events:
- Eights' Head reception, March 21st 2009
- Henley Royal Regatta gathering, July 4th 2009
- ICBC Annual Dinner, November 14th 2009
We are also trying to update our records in various ways. If you do not currently receive communications (invitations to these events and occasional newsletters) from the club, but would like to, then please email the Captain on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. ICBC Annual Dinner
The Annual Dinner 2008 was held at the Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge immediately following the Fours Head of the River Race. We were pleased to welcome back several members of the Ladies' Plate winning Henley crew of 1978, as well as other club alumni from as far back as 1943! Guest speaker Andy Triggs-Hodge entertained a crowd of over 120 current and past club members in a very enjoyable night for all. Read the full write up here.
Next year's Dinner is likely to be held on November 14th 2009. More details will be circulated nearer the time.
Eights' Head reception
Watch Imperial College Boat Club's crews dominate our own stretch of river in the Eights Head of the River Race. 2008 saw ICBC finish second in a close fought race against Leander for the overall pennant. Read more about this and the alumni reception here.
The finish line can be seen from our club room in the boathouse in Putney, where we hope to celebrate many victories with a drinks reception for current and former rowers on March 21st 2009. The race starts at 11.15am.
Henley Royal Regatta
Last year Imperial's 9 entries in the Henley Royal Regatta included three semi-finalists and the winners of the Visitors' Challenge Cup. Please join us this year on the evening of Saturday 4th July 2009 to meet Imperial's rowers, to reunite with old friends and to wish the crews good luck for Sunday's racing. Rowers and non-rowers alike are welcome.
