Christina Duffy - Press Officer

Originally from Dublin, Officer Duffy graduated with a first class honours degree in Physics with Astronomy at DCU. She is currently studying for a PhD in the Department of Earth Science & Engineering at Imperial. Her work concentrates on primitive meteorites and interplanetary dust particles, with an aim to elucidate the origins of the solar system.

She joined ICBC as a novice in 2007 and has yet to leave the boathouse subjecting all gym users to her pure bassline, trance and garage album tracks. Her crew has had great success competing in all the major events with some good wins at the BUSA Championships (4+), Twickenham Regatta (4+) and most recently at Gent in the Elite 8+. Her greatest achievement at ICBC came in late 2008 when she was presented with the inaugural "Duffy Award" for crossing the pain barrier. When not rowing or press officering the Duffster can be found on the football pitch where she plays for and trains the Fulham Irish Women’s Gaelic Football Team.
