I'm studying for an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering after a gap year of working full time. I took up rowing at school, RGS High Wycombe, aged 13, where the emphasis was heavily on sculling over sweep-oared boats. I spent my final two years there as Captain of Boats.

My first year of rowing at IC introduced me to the new concepts of only having one oar, doing more training sessions in a week than there are days and has reaffirmed my belief that the sport is the perfect excuse to eat whatever and whenever I want.

Moving into my second year I take up an exciting position on the committee (I have my hands on the cash) and am also a resident of the club's penthouse riverside accommodation.
